Strikingly Thin Dell Vostro V130

Dell’s Vostro laptops have always been strikingly thin, and at less than 2cm thick the new V 130 is no exception. The aluminum design is striking and wouldn’t look out of place in the home or office. The Intel Core is-470UM processor’s Turbo Boost mode increases the clock speed from 1.33 to 1.86GHz when needed. The V130 is the first laptop to use Intel’s Hyperbaric cooling technology. This low-voltage model is slower than other Core is chips, but it consumes less power and runs at a lower temperature. Thanks to 4GB of memory some applications can run smoothly.

This laptop is powerful enough for high-definition video, but playing games still remains out of reach and image quality is only average. Sound from the two tiny speakers is poor. The keyboard is comfortable to type on but it doesn’t have number pad. Almost all the ports are at the back, which can be inconvenient when connecting peripherals. We like the Vostro V 130′s compact design, but feel it fell short in everyday use.
