DONA, A Robotic Beggar by Min Su Kim

Don’t have any money? Maybe DONA will do it for you. DONA is a robotic beggar that can persuade people interactively to give donations. So how does the robot persuade passers-by to give donations? DONA engages people similar to pet interacting with human. It’s common fact that people hardly responsive towards adult humans, but to babies and animals they’re pretty much can easily be persuaded. So how about using robot? Well, because this robot mimic and interact like pet does, it works very fine and pretty hard to resist as people will definitely amazed with it.

Perhaps major like robotics, communication studies, sociology, psychology and economy should start to do some research of the effectiveness using this robot so that people give donation. The designer Min Su Kim should be given a big applause for robot designing used to collect donations.
